Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation of analyses and studies for Real World Evidence (RWE) Analytics and provide senior support/direction to Data Analysts.
- Provide programming support and senior oversight for studies using large databases (e.g., administrative claims, electronic health records).
- Collaborate with HEVA, medical affairs, BO&S, and commercial product teams to translate research questions into actionable analytics tasks.
- Assess study feasibility across data sources (including new/less familiar sources).
- Conduct exploratory analyses to understand data sources and support study feasibility/design decisions.
- Characterize disease epidemiology and burden; estimate rates of pre-specified outcomes using diagnostic and/or treatment codes (descriptive/comparative designs).
- Review literature for methods/codes/validated algorithms; create statistical analysis plans and table shells.
- Develop algorithms (e.g., lines of therapy for oncology) and apply modeling (regression, time-to-event).
- Report results via study tables, dashboards, or slide decks; communicate results to stakeholders.
Education/Experience
- BA/BS + 5 years relevant experience OR MS/PhD + 3 years relevant experience.
- Preferred academic training: mathematics, statistics/biostatistics, statistical programming, observational research, epidemiology, health economics, or related quantitative field.
Required Experience/Skills
- Programming experience: R, Python, SQL.
- Working knowledge of statistical methods.
- Epidemiological methods experience.
- Experience analyzing secondary patient data (e.g., EMRs, administrative claims).
- Experience leading observational research/secondary data studies; pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Expertise guiding more junior team members through analysis implementation.
- Excellent written/verbal communication; collaboration; ability to communicate technical details to non-experts.
