Associate Director, Protein Sciences

Role: Lead and develop Protein Sciences for biotherapeutics, focusing on antibody–oligonucleotide conjugates and emerging modalities. Responsibilities: oversee internal research and external CRO collaborations to deliver high-quality proteins and conjugates; build capabilities in purification, conjugation, and analytical methods; mentor and manage a small scientific team; partner with discovery, development, and CMC teams to advance lead candidates through development stages; integrate AI and advanced technologies into workflows to accelerate programs. Requirements: PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, or related field with 8+ years (or MS with 10+ years) biotech/pharma experience; proven leadership in protein sciences, therapeutic antibodies, or biologics; hands-on expertise with protein production, purification (e.g., FPLC/AKTA), and analytical platforms; experience advancing biologics from research to development, considering developability and CMC. Preferred: experience with antibody–oligonucleotide conjugates; managing external CROs such as WuXi Biologics; active use of AI and LLMs in research.
