Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures; design sound project plans, conduct early risk assessments, and implement fallback strategies to ensure quality and effectiveness of key project results.
- Provide leadership and centralized management for planning and development of large/global projects; define project scope by integrating customer strategic needs and technology/business needs.
- Lead the project team using established PM tools and techniques to stay within authorized budget limits; develop and execute project strategy aligned to key customer business objectives; contribute to long-term business/organizational strategies.
- Manage all phases of project evaluation; monitor aggregate performance and value indicators; coordinate and supervise project audits; lead global teams to develop and align procedures and standards.
- Partner with corporate purchasing to identify strategic vendor alliances; assist with contract negotiation; evaluate vendor qualifications, reliability, and performance.
- Foster innovation and cross-project idea exchange to develop best solutions; develop standards maximizing customer ROI with minimal infrastructure for ongoing support.
- Communicate effectively across all organizational levels; act as an advisor to management and spokesperson on advanced projects; set direction for improving project design/outcomes aligned with corporate strategy.
- Lead groups/divisional task forces; provide mentoring across work groups/functions; monitor improvement of engineers; participate in evaluation of staff/team members and identify development needs.
- Assess fulfillment of environmental, health and safety (EH&S) requirements and compliance obligations; promote continuous improvement; consider EH&S during design and change processes.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 12+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience; post-graduate education desired.
- Demonstrated excellence in global project management.
- Interpersonal skills to negotiate and reconcile differences while optimizing organizational goals; technical background in biological or pharmaceutical companies.
- Competency with financial systems and fiscal control; project accounting experience.
- Understanding and management of procurement and contracting processes.
- Formal Project Management training (preferred).
