Role Summary

As the Employer Reporting Product Owner, you will define and drive a comprehensive analytics strategy that supports every stage of the employer engagement lifecycleβ€”from identifying and prioritizing target accounts to equipping field teams with compelling value narratives, monitoring formulary adoption, generating real-world evidence of medicine outcomes, and sustaining long-term employer coverage and account health.

As part of the Sales and Marketing Data team within Tech@Lilly USA, you’ll translate complex business needs into forward-looking analytics solutions that move the organization beyond traditional reporting toward AI-powered, self-service analytics experiences.

This role requires the ability to operate in ambiguity, drive clarity in undefined spaces, and translate complex business needs into forward-looking solutions that move the organization beyond traditional reporting and toward AI-powered, self-service analytics experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Employer reporting and analytics capabilities, ensuring alignment with Lilly USA's Employer priority and the broader Sales and Marketing Data portfolio.
  • Translate strategic business priorities into actionable product roadmaps and deliver on them through disciplined execution β€” on time and with measurable outcomes.
  • Own the full feature lifecycle from requirements definition through deployment, managing portfolio epics, features, spikes, risks, and dependencies.
  • Lead PI planning and solution-level syncs in partnership with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Define KPIs and ensure delivery of meaningful, measurable value across the Employer, LVA, and FRM organizations.
  • Partner with the Lilly Value and Access organization to deeply understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions that deliver rich organizational value.
  • Partner with Technical Product Managers and Tech@Lilly architects to validate high-level solution architecture, ensuring proposed solutions are feasible, compliant, and aligned to product goals.
  • Lead cross-functional teams β€” spanning business, IT, and external partners β€” to deliver integrated analytics solutions.
  • Operate effectively in ambiguous, "gray space" environments, driving clarity as requirements emerge and evolve.
  • Ensure delivery adheres to appropriate AI, quality, and compliance requirements and standards.
  • Champion a forward-looking analytics vision that moves the organization decisively beyond static dashboards and pre-built reports toward dynamic, self-service, and AI-driven capabilities.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to replace or augment conventional reporting with conversational AI, natural language querying, and intelligent decision-support tools that put insights directly in the hands of business users.
  • Evaluate and advocate for emerging analytics technologies β€” including generative AI β€” that surface insights proactively rather than requiring users to know what questions to ask.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify where traditional reporting creates friction, designing solutions such as embedded analytics, predictive models, and AI-generated recommendations that reduce dependency on pre-built reports.
  • Foster a culture of data fluency within the Value and Access organization by enabling self-service tools that make complex data accessible to non-technical users without requiring analyst intervention.
  • Stay current on industry trends in employer engagement, value-based care, AI, and healthcare analytics, bringing outside-in perspective to the roadmap.
  • Serve as the strategic liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring consistent alignment on priorities, resource use, and unified delivery.
  • Communicate program progress, risks, and strategic insights to senior leaders through data-backed storytelling and compelling visualization.
  • Influence strategy and drive business impact through exceptional communication with leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Partner with AI Committees, Digital Core, Global Data, Enterprise Architecture, and external vendors to align strategies and accelerate AI and analytics adoption.

Success Measures

  • Delivery of 2026 roadmap milestones with measurable business outcomes across Employer, LVA, and FRM organizations.
  • Accelerated transition from traditional reporting to self-service, AI-powered analytics experiences.
  • Increased data fluency and analytics adoption across the Value and Access organization.
  • Stronger collaboration and alignment between business stakeholders and technology delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated ROI and outcomes reporting that advances Lilly's Employer customer strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience applying AI and machine learning applications in analytics, including familiarity with Generative AI capabilities and their application to reporting, decision support, and business insights.
  • Experience working in data and analytics, with proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and actionable insights.
  • Experience with product ownership in an Agile environment (Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban).
  • Experience with product management and collaboration tools such as Jira and Jira Align.

Skills

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, particularly supporting sales or commercial organizations with data and analytics solutions.
  • Understanding of Value and Access, Market Access, or employer/payer engagement concepts.
  • Experience with commercial data products (e.g., Customer, Product, Claims data).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred) and comfort working alongside engineering teams in data lake or Databricks-based architectures.
  • Background in healthcare economics, outcomes research, or value-based care analytics.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept to realization.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with senior business leaders and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Superb communication, collaboration, and influencing skills across business and technical audiences.
