Position Summary: Associate Director, Product Communications, Skeletal Conditions
Responsibilities:
- Lead integrated communications and PR strategies for skeletal conditions, highlighting innovation and value of medicines.
- Drive proactive/reactive media engagement and thought leadership.
- Identify and amplify compelling patient/community stories to drive meaningful media coverage.
- Serve as Corporate Affairs lead on cross-functional teams; support key milestones (clinical data readouts, medical congresses).
- Lead insight-driven campaigns and content development with agency partners across earned, owned, and digital channels.
- Oversee press materials and external communications (press releases, media briefings, issues management) ensuring alignment and compliance.
- Review media coverage and elevate relevant product/competitor/industry news to internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Corporate and Digital Communications to amplify messaging (executive communications, social media, corporate initiatives).
Qualifications:
- 8β12 years in public relations, with product communications experience in biopharmaceutical industry (preferably in-house).
- Excellent writer/storyteller; strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build consensus, influence cross-functionally, and collaborate in a growing team.
- Experience developing/executing media relations strategies.
- Experience supporting drug product approvals; strong familiarity with BLA/NDA and sBLA/sNDA processes.
- Experience leading issues management.
- Knowledge of communications regulations for a publicly traded biopharmaceutical company; solid understanding of healthcare policy environment.
- BS/BA (science, communications, liberal arts); advanced degree in communications/PR/journalism/business preferred.
Location:
- San Rafael, CA HQ; hybrid work (onsite at least 2 days/week). Additional travel as needed.
