Overview
Associate Director – Process Engineering is responsible for supervising engineers and engineering technicians who support daily operations of the advanced therapies manufacturing facility at LP2, including process engineers, process control (automation) engineers, and plant engineers. Ensures reliable, qualified, and compliant equipment, control applications, and building/facility systems for manufacturing advanced therapies drug products. Oversees capital projects from concept through close-out ($500,000–$5,000,000) and partners across engineering and functions to support technical agenda, business plan priorities, and compliance objectives.

Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop engineering staff (process, automation, and plant) through performance reviews, staffing, and succession planning.
- Oversee compliant delivery of capital projects from concept through close-out across process, automation, plant, and project engineering.
- Drive operational excellence by ensuring compliance, tracking KPIs, and removing barriers to team performance.
- Set and reinforce standards for engineering rigor and First Principles in coordination with Global Engineering and other LP2 areas.
- Partner with site leadership on long-term site master plan strategy and recapitalization efforts.

Basic Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years pharmaceutical engineering manufacturing experience; preferably biosynthetic drug substance and/or sterile drug product operations.

Additional Skills/Preferences
- Experience obtaining or working toward Professional Engineer licensure (encouraged, not required).
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, independent decision-making, and networking skills.
- Ability to ensure technical depth and rigor in deliverables.
- Ability to recruit/retain talent; provide innovative solutions.
- Proficient verbal and written communication, including coaching and feedback.
