Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Precision Medicine provides subject matter expertise to develop and execute companion biomarker diagnostic programs supporting BMS product development and brand teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent Precision Medicine on Development and Brand/Translational Medicine teams where companion/complementary (in vitro) diagnostics are in scope.
- Collaborate across translational medicine and R&D in an integrated organizational framework.
- Form alliances across scientific disciplines and contribute to decision-making on highly complex problems.
- Coordinate Precision Medicine matrix sub-teams to incorporate diagnostic biomarkers into exploratory, clinical, regulatory, and Medical/Commercial strategies.
- Provide technical direction for diagnostic partnering (search, evaluation, transactions).
- Coordinate activities with external diagnostic partners; deliver diagnostic partner milestones (technical/validation, clinical validation, regulatory).
- Support commercial planning and medical strategy related to diagnostic products.
- Provide internal/external Precision Medicine subject matter expertise and disseminate knowledge for organizational learning.
- Represent Precision Medicine to external stakeholders (health authorities, medical customers, scientific meetings).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Advanced technical degree (MSc, PhD, MD, DVM, PharmD).
- 3+ yearsβ experience in diagnostic assay development.
- Working knowledge of biomarker/in vitro diagnostic platforms.
- Plus: diagnostic industry experience, oncology biomarkers, diagnostic business development, and/or lab medicine certification (e.g., ASCP).
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary matrix teams.
