Associate Director of Portfolio Intelligence
Responsibilities
- Develop independent, analytically rigorous views on commercial performance (launch performance, market opportunity, competitive positioning, revenue potential).
- Track performance vs internal plans, Street expectations, peer launches, and analogues to identify drivers of over/under-performance.
- Monitor market, competitive, regulatory, clinical, and investor developments affecting asset value, launch trajectory, strategic positioning, and investor perception.
- Synthesize commercial and financial analyses into clear recommendations for senior leadership, the Board, and stakeholders (earnings/Board materials, investor questions, major portfolio decisions).
- Partner with internal teams on portfolio decision support using scenario modeling, valuation, risk assessment, and strategic option evaluation.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in science, engineering, business, finance, economics, or related analytical discipline (required).
- Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent) (strongly preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in commercial analytics; management consulting, investment banking, or healthcare investing (VC/PE) (preferred).
Skills/Experience
- First-principles problem-solving for complex scientific/business questions.
- Commercial analytics (market sizing, patient flow, demand forecasting, launch tracking, competitive benchmarking, revenue forecasting, performance diagnostics).
- Structure ambiguous problems into actionable conclusions.
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills (required); real options analysis/Monte Carlo or similar (highly preferred).
- Strong organization; clear written and presentation communication; familiarity with IQVIA/Komodo and Bloomberg/Capital IQ.

- In-person; 4β5 days/week collaboration, primarily in Palo Alto.

Salary (California)
- $210,000β$232,900 USD.
