Summary/Role: Associate Director, Portfolio Governance & PMO leadership for late-stage clinical/commercial operations, ensuring governance, alignment, transparent reporting, and continuous improvement across a cross-functional organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic direction, governance, and execution oversight of the Project Management Office (PMO).
- Align programs/projects to organizational objectives; establish best-in-class project management standards.
- Partner with leadership on portfolio alignment (strategy, funding, capacity, risk management).
- Lead transformation initiatives to enhance PMO maturity/effectiveness.
- Establish end-to-end portfolio governance (intake, prioritization, stage-gate process, decision forums).
- Lead and develop a team of portfolio/program/project management professionals.
- Chair portfolio review boards and steering committees; facilitate portfolio reviews and governance meetings.
- Lead components of annual and long-range portfolio planning; perform scenarios/capacity analysis.
- Develop/maintain portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and executive reports.
- Develop/enhance PMO processes, tools, best practices; implement global processes (e.g., Technical Agenda, Consensus Yield).
- Create detailed project plans/timelines for large cross-functional initiatives; manage execution and communications.
- Partner with data science to develop a digital technical agenda for the TDS portfolio.
- Mentor/train team members; design/facilitate workshops and visual management/engagement strategies.
- Support organizational redesign aligned to TDS portfolio centralization.
- Represent TDS at governance bodies and technical network meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmaceutical Engineering (required).
- Lean Six Sigma certification (strongly recommended).
Experience:
- 10+ years in a cGMP regulated manufacturing environment with experience in manufacturing or manufacturing support (MSAT, process development, engineering, business ops, etc.) (required).
- 7β10 years in portfolio management, PMO, program, or project management (required).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and management skills.
- Excellent verbal/written communication; ability to present and influence all levels, including executive leadership.
- Strong understanding of portfolio governance, resource management, and performance tracking.
- Advanced proficiency with portfolio/reporting tools (e.g., MS Project, Planview, PowerBI).
- People management experience (preferred).
- Ability to influence and drive cross-functional collaboration.
