Role Summary
Associate Director – Platform Operations, Linux and Storage Backup leads the global technical operations of Linux, Storage and Backups within the Infrastructure Hosting Platform. Responsible for guiding US-based teams (part of the 24/7 global InfraOps) to maintain system stability, automate tasks, and ensure high availability for mission-critical workloads. Drives improvements through AI, automation, and improved observability to prevent outages and deliver value across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the US-based Linux, Storage and Backups operations teams as part of the 24/7 global InfraOps.
- Maintain system stability, automate operational tasks, and ensure high availability for mission-critical workloads.
- Lead and manage a team responsible for Linux servers/workstations and Storage/Backup administration, server consolidation, and large-scale enterprise environments across multi-datacenter stretch clusters.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership, guiding operations teams and collaborating with other platform infrastructure SMEs to deliver daily operations effectively.
- Be Bold: drive Infrastructure Operations to minimize repetitive fixes through AI OPS, Event Driven Automation, and observability.
- Be Fast: accelerate initiatives in Infrastructure AI OPS automation, cloud IaaS management, and infrastructure as code to enable business projects.
- Be Proactive: transform operations processes with proactive, predictive, and automated AI & Observability capabilities.
- Be Your Best: contribute to Lilly Technology strategy, identify tech opportunities, and accelerate the AI OPS journey.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Required: 7+ years’ experience as a Platform/Infrastructure operations leader.
- Required: Demonstrated experience leading and managing operations of a global large-scale Infrastructure service.
- Required: Onsite role located in Indianapolis, IN (relocation required).

Education

Additional Requirements
- Onsite role located in Indianapolis, IN (relocation required).
- Expected onsite shift coverage: 11:00am – 8:00pm EST / 12:00-9:00pm EDT.
- Schedules: Monday - Friday or Thursday – Monday.
- Role requires coverage of US hours; travel typically less than 10%.
