Plant Engineering Manager - Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing
Position Overview
Plant Engineering within Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing maintains site facility infrastructure (buildings, HVAC, UAF hoods, GMP utilities, steam, water, sewer, and related utility systems) in continuous state of compliance. The organization ensures facilities are fit for use, maintenance/reliability practices are effective, and corrective and improvement actions are implemented promptly. The role oversees local capital investments and provides leadership/governance for engineering and maintenance contract resources. The Plant Engineering Manager sets strategic direction and objectives, partnering with site and functional leaders to deliver business priorities (Site Business Plan, GMP Plan, HSE objectives). Leads daily operations, employee development, regulatory compliance, budget management, and execution of major projects and shutdowns.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, mentor, coach, and recognize employees; build a strong safety and quality culture; ensure staffing with capable talent; remove barriers limiting team effectiveness.
- Develop/deliver objectives aligned with the site business plan; establish/monitor performance metrics; drive continuous improvement; ensure prioritization, resourcing, and tools; track and report progress.
- Ensure facilities/utilities/HVAC support safe, compliant, reliable operations; enforce cGMPs, HSE requirements, corporate policies, and procedures; maintain accountability for a safe work environment; interface with regulatory agencies during inspections.
- Provide technical input/leadership for operations, projects, and investigations; lead cross-functional teams for utility and HVAC operations and continuous improvement; sponsor C4I, CAPA, Six Sigma, and Lean; participate in master planning and major capital projects.
- Manage departmental budgets (including Parenteral Building Collectors); ensure effective capital planning, execution, and stewardship.
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated team leadership, interpersonal effectiveness, and communication.
- Strong technical competence in Plant Engineering or related disciplines (typically 5+ years).
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across organizational levels (verbal and written).
- Strong talent development and coaching.
- Solid understanding of regulatory/compliance requirements (e.g., GMP, OSHA, FRAP).
Education
- Bachelorβs degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

- Anticipated wage: $123,000 - $180,400; full-time employees may be eligible for a company bonus.
