Role Summary

Associate Director, Patient Access Strategy - Biosimilars. Leads, develops, and implements strategies to maximize patient access to biosimilar therapies while minimizing GTN impact. Oversees vendor management, program design, compliance, financial management, data analytics, and program effectiveness across patient affordability and access initiatives. Hybrid role based in Parsippany, NJ.

Responsibilities

  • Program leadership: Provide leadership with Biosimilar Marketing, Value & Access, and Vendors to design, develop, and implement affordability and access programs that align with business objectives.
  • Value & Access strategy: Develop and execute strategies to maximize patient access to Tevaβ€šΓ„Γ΄s biosimilar products and gain a competitive advantage where possible.
  • Strategic pricing and contracting: Ensure pricing and contract strategies account for patient access and affordability program costs.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Lead collaboration with internal teams (legal, compliance, account managers, finance) and external partners (affordability and patient support program vendors) for smooth program operations.
  • Financial Updates: Prepare financial analyses relating to affordability and access program activity and spend for AOP, quarterly RF, and LRP forecasts.
  • Budget management: Forecast and monitor budgets for affordability programs and other patient access services.
  • Data analysis: Develop standard program reporting, include KPIs and SLAs; integrate co-pay program redemption trends into forecasts and evaluations.
  • Business Insights: Use program data to understand the competitive landscape, inform strategies, optimize financials, maximize pull-through, and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Program effectiveness: Evaluate and monitor patient access programs to ensure performance and improvements.
  • Program design: Provide expertise on business rules and changes with external vendors, Value & Access, Brand Team, and Legal.
  • Communication: Develop plans for coordinating vendor-customer interactions and internal Teva communications, training, and field pull-through.
  • Launch leadership: Participate in launch teams to evaluate and develop cost-effective affordability programs.
  • Operations: Manage vendor RFPs, vendor relationships, and program administration (budget tracking, invoicing, payments).
  • Risk Management: Anticipate and evaluate trends affecting financial risks in affordability programs.
  • Innovation: Stay current on best practices by attending industry meetings and conferences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business, finance, or pharmacy preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry; strong preference for pharmaceutical experience.
  • At least 3 years developing and managing patient affordability programs, or combined 7 years relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of affordability program design, economics, rules, and execution for medical and pharmacy benefits.
  • Experience designing programs across multiple therapeutic areas is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of federal and state healthcare laws, regulations, and policies related to affordability and access programs.
  • Knowledge of healthcare insurance, benefit designs, payer policies, and utilization management.
  • Expertise in affordability program operations, vendor contracts, data analysis, budgeting, and program evaluation.
  • Experience with Patient Services programs (HUB) and related ecosystems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; ability to lead in a cross-functional, matrixed organization.
  • Adaptability, urgency, and ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong financial analysis, strategic thinking, and data-driven decision making.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data platforms; strong interpersonal and planning skills.
  • Project management and stakeholder leadership capabilities.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business, finance, or pharmacy preferred.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel: Approximately 15% domestic travel throughout the US including overnight travel.
  • Physical: Sit/stand for extended periods at workstation; visual acuity for computer work and data analysis.
  • Working environment: Mostly office-based; occasional business-attire requirements for meetings/conferences.
