Role Summary

Associate Director, Pain Forecasting at Vertex within the North America Forecasting, Analytics and Market Research team. Provides forecasting support and analytics for ongoing and future pain launches across North America.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve demand forecast models using top-down and bottom-up approaches to provide an overall forecast and detailed prescribing depth across customer segments
  • Leverage research and analytics from the team and across functions to create and update forecasting assumptions
  • Coordinate and integrate demand forecast models with gross-to-net, market access, and financial models to ensure aligned assumptions
  • Support demand and financial modeling for new opportunities under evaluation by the BU
  • Ensure outputs of each forecasting period are clearly communicated to downstream processes (e.g., supply chain) and forecasting data is accessible to required stakeholders within the Pain BU
  • Contribute to the advancement of forecasting capabilities at Vertex

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business Analytics) or equivalent experience
  • Required: 7–10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with 6+ years in insights, forecasting, and/or analytics
  • Proficiency with complex Excel forecast models and integrating forecast models with other cross-functional models; experience pulling data from a data warehouse to support forecasting (e.g., SQL)
  • Experience with diverse pharmaceutical data sets (IQVIA or equivalent, XPONENT PlanTrak, DDD, LAAD, etc.)
  • Experience forecasting products in large, complex markets across retail and hospital products
  • Strong analytical and business acumen; ability to structure problems, diagnose issues, and triangulate with multiple approaches
  • Experience collaborating with analytics & forecasting leadership to evaluate assumptions and communicate outputs to business leadership
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving business and planning needs
