Associate Director, Operational Excellence

Role: Associate Director of Operational Excellence within Lilly's BRD division, focusing on developing and maintaining visualization systems, AI tools, and process mapping to enhance transparency and performance insights across scientific and operational workflows. Responsibilities include partnering with subject matter experts to map value streams, creating dashboards for leadership and teams, designing AI-enabled solutions to automate data and improve decision-making, and supporting the continuous maturity of operational excellence standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's in engineering, life sciences, or information systems; at least five years' experience in process visualization, workflow mapping, and lean six sigma methodologies; proficiency with data visualization tools; and experience working with SMEs in regulated environments. Preferred skills include familiarity with AI automation, business process hierarchy design, and building real-time performance dashboards in pharma or biotech contexts. The role entails cross-functional collaboration with scientists, project managers, and leadership, offering visibility into end-to-end R&D and manufacturing processes, from discovery through GMP manufacturing. Experience with AI tools, process optimization, and regulated lifecycle management are valuable. The position may involve onsite work with some flexibility, and occasional site visits for direct observations to ensure visualizations accurately reflect real processes.
