Role Summary

The Associate Director, Oncology Competitive Intelligence leads a comprehensive CI program to strategically support BMS' oncology portfolio, delivering timely and actionable insights to key stakeholders. This role manages CI vendors/partners and leverages internal tools and platforms, reporting to the Senior Director, Oncology Competitive Intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the comprehensive CI strategic plan for solid tumors and/or hematological malignancies within BMS' oncology portfolio, aligned with stakeholder priorities and strategic imperatives.
  • Lead and manage all CI activities within budget, operating with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Expand CI reach, identify opportunities to embed CI as an internal consulting partner, and innovate/simplify CI processes and workstreams.
  • Assess the competitive environment and emerging scientific data to inform clinical, regulatory, access, and commercial strategies.
  • Conduct analyses and research on Key Intelligence Topics/Questions; synthesize insights and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders across functions.
  • Build relationships and influence senior management to advance insight-enabled decision making.
  • Implement elements of the internal CI model, managing external vendors/partners, internal intelligence networks, and leveraging internal tools and platforms.
  • Maintain forensics capability via extrapolation, triangulation, and internal expert validation.
  • Execute projects within budget and timelines, making tradeoffs as necessary.
  • Ensure dissemination and access to competitive intelligence to inform strategic questions.
  • Demonstrate and uphold high standards of business integrity.
  • Respond to ad hoc business questions with expert analysis and timely delivery.
  • Internal clients include Commercial, Clinical Development, and Medical.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required; MBA/PharmD/PhD preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of competitive intelligence or relevant experience
  • Experience designing and facilitating competitive simulation workshops
  • Experience in solid tumors and/or hematology
  • Ability to quickly build proficiency in new categories or therapeutic areas
  • Solid understanding of pharmaceutical drug development and commercialization pathways
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to synthesize data and develop actionable recommendations; strong written and verbal communication
  • Initiative, curiosity, creativity, and ability to work in dynamic environments
  • Proven project leadership and time/resource management
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across geographies and roles
  • Experience supporting decision making in a complex corporate environment
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical CI data sources (desirable)
