Role: Lead a team of bioinformatics scientists in Natera's Women's Health and Organ Health research, focusing on the development and optimization of diagnostic assays involving next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis. Responsibilities: oversee scientific planning, assay development, pipeline creation, and transition of research prototypes into production workflows; lead bioinformatics analysis for multi-omic approaches including methylation and fragmentomics; ensure data quality and study design; advise on analysis pipeline improvements; manage team growth and cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Laboratory, and Product teams. Requirements: Ph.D. or M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or related field; 7+ years in bioinformatics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role; extensive experience in NGS data processing, variant calling, and diagnostics development in regulated CLIA environments; strong programming skills (Python preferred); familiarity with multi-omics data, cloud computing, containerization, and automation. Preferred: experience with long-read sequencing (PacBio, Oxford Nanopore), R, shell scripting, and workflow orchestration tools. High-value: focus on cell-free DNA, multi-omic assays, diagnostics pipeline development, regulated clinical setting, and multi-platform sequencing (short and long-read). Collaboration: cross-functional engagement with R&D, lab, data science, and quality teams. Work setup: remote USA; salary range $166,600–$202,000.
