Associate Director, Medical Strategy and Operations, Anti-Infectives and Respiratory

Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate annual planning for assets: budget consolidation, forecasting, prioritization, and cross-team alignment.
- Serve as primary medical operations partner for Anti-Infectives and/or Respiratory medicines; support Asset Medical Leads with Medical Affairs plan development and execution.
- Develop operational plans (timelines, resourcing, budget assumptions, execution milestones) and support aligned execution.
- Track execution vs. plan/budget/milestones; identify risks, trade-offs, and mitigation strategies; ensure adherence to policies/SOPs/governance.
- Coordinate Medical Matrix Team meetings and cross-TA forums; provide status updates and performance insights to leadership/stakeholders.
- Embed TA operating model/ways of working (tools, templates, governance, routines).
- Identify workflow improvements to increase transparency, speed, and execution quality; share best practices.
- Support change initiatives by adopting new processes/tools/behaviors with agility.
- Facilitate use of data, dashboards, and emerging digital/AI tools to improve planning and measure impact.
- Coordinate operational support as needed (vendors/agencies/outsourced support).

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (Business, Life Sciences, Public Health, or related).
- 5+ years in Medical Affairs operations, medical planning, business operations, or project/program management (pharma/biotech).
- 2+ years supporting medical planning/execution for a brand/asset/therapeutic area.
- 2+ years tracking budgets/timelines/execution metrics.
- Matrix environment experience; contribute to ways-of-working changes.
- Experience using data, dashboards, and digital/AI-enabled tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (MBA/PharmD/PhD/equivalent) and/or PMP certification/project management training.
- Anti-Infectives and/or Respiratory Medical Affairs and/or launch/post-launch asset experience.
- Process improvement across HQ/field; strong multi-priority matrix management.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving and stakeholder management.

Travel Expectations: 10–15%.

Compensation/Benefits (US): Annual base salary range (Cambridge/Waltham/Rockville/San Francisco): $154,275–$257,125; annual bonus; eligibility for share-based long-term incentive; health insurance, retirement, paid holidays/vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
