Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison, Oncology - West

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary field-based point of contact with healthcare providers (HCPs), including clinical investigators, for clinical and scientific issues.
- Deliver and facilitate medical education and communications, research activities, and scientific insight gathering.
- Develop and maintain outstanding knowledge of immuno-oncology and relevant disease areas.
- Develop and maintain outstanding knowledge of Immunocore products, competitor products, and other therapeutic options within the therapeutic area.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure best patient care.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of medical and broader company strategy to ensure activities are coordinated and aligned.
- Build synergistic relationships with KOLs to expand research, advisory, and educational partnerships.
- Adhere to the highest ethical compliance, ethics, and safety standards and all local regulations and laws.
Education/Communication:
- Educate internal stakeholders with medical/scientific knowledge, training, and support on Immunocore products.
- Act as an external, credible scientific expert at HCP field meetings, conferences, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and patient advocacy group meetings.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information in a credible, balanced/objective manner.
- Provide medical education as permissible by local laws and regulations.
- Lead and implement congress symposiums and other educational programs.
- Deliver clinical presentations and tailor them to audience needs.
- Support early access programs.
Insight gathering and processing:
- Identify and map HCPs and networks/referral patterns.
- Identify and disseminate key field insights and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to resolve HCP needs/issues with the goal of best patient care.
- Support congress planning and implementation.
Research:
- Support clinical operations in trial site identification.
- Facilitate communication and engagement between Immunocore and investigators for Immunocore trials, investigator-sponsored studies, and barriers to enrollment.
- Lead collation, discussion/review of ESR proposals and setup/maintenance of approved studies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3–5 years of MSL experience.
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD).
- 3 years of oncology experience (preferably immuno-oncology and melanoma) required.
- Knowledge of clinical research design and GCP in oncology/immune oncology.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial design and study analysis, including cost effectiveness/HEOR evidence approaches.
- Strong understanding of local healthcare systems and treatment guidelines.
- Ability to develop trust and maintain integrity with KOLs/external experts, investigators, HCPs, institutions, and peers.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations to the role.
Skills:
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to convey complex scientific concepts tailored to the audience.
Work Location & Travel:
- Candidates should be located within the West Territory (CA, AZ, NV, HI).
- Travel: 60%.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual salary range: $170,000 – $225,000.
- Eligible for standard company benefits (medical, dental, vision, time off, 401k) and participation in annual incentive plans.
