Role Summary

Associate Director - Medical Science Liaison Dermatology - North Florida. This role requires a home-base location in Orlando, FL or Tampa Bay, FL. The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) serves as a scientific and clinical resource in dermatology, engaging with Scientific Experts and Clinician Educators to facilitate scientific exchange, support strategic initiatives, and provide up-to-date medical information to internal partners and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Scientific knowledge: Maintain high-level technical expertise in dermatology to respond to diverse medical information requests and provide unbiased, accurate information.
  • Customer engagement: Engage in customer-facing activities, act as a primary interface between Lilly medical and SEs/CEs, and facilitate collaboration with internal resources and external opportunities.
  • Territory ownership: Develop and execute a strategic territory plan, prioritize core activities, and utilize territory analytics for customer identification and routing prioritization.
  • Strategic vision and leadership: Synthesize and communicate actionable insights to internal teams, collaborate across functions, adapt to changing business needs, and execute role in a compliant manner.
  • Team Lilly Behaviors: Demonstrate Include, Innovate, Accelerate, and Deliver in collaboration with peers and Lilly colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) required with 2–3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience desired, OR Masters or bachelor's level degree in health sciences (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) considered if 5+ years of clinical, research, or industry experience in relevant therapeutic area is present.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship for work authorization/visas.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Skills

  • Advanced presentation and computer skills with expertise in literature identification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use field-based electronic or other communication tools effectively.
  • Strategic and critical thinking to analyze information and assess relevance to future states.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, and high emotional intelligence for professional relationship building and networking.
  • Experience in servicing customer needs for complex information and professional networking.

Additional Requirements

  • Field-based position requires travel up to 80% and work up to 4–6 weekends a year.
  • Applicants should live in close proximity to a transport hub (airport/train station).
  • Intellectual curiosity about the field of science/medicine; ability to comprehend and communicate large amounts of complex scientific content clearly.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently with multiple priorities; strong execution of prioritization.
  • Dermatology therapeutic area experience strongly preferred.
