Role Summary
Associate Director - Medical Science Liaison - Dermatology (Houston) with Lilly. The MSL program engages field-based medical professionals to exchange scientific information with scientific experts, inform strategic direction for research and commercialization, and facilitate collaboration across Lilly resources. This role covers East and South Texas, including Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and other major cities along the Texas Gulf Coast. The MSL will act as a trusted medical resource, delivering unbiased, up-to-date scientific information to SEs/CEs and other stakeholders while maintaining compliance and fostering constructive partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Scientific knowledge: Maintain expert-level technical knowledge in the therapeutic area; engage in continuous learning to respond to diverse medical information needs and provide unbiased, accurate, up-to-date information.
- Customer engagement: Prioritize customer-facing activities; use emotional intelligence and strategic thinking to deliver a positive customer experience; connect SEs/CEs with Lilly resources and facilitate collaborative research and external opportunities.
- Territory ownership: Develop and execute a strategic territory plan; prioritize core MSL activities; ensure compliant partnerships across Lilly field roles; utilize territory analytics for customer identification and routing.
- Strategic vision and leadership: Synthesize and communicate actionable insights to internal teams; exercise good judgment, escalate issues when appropriate; build internal networks and collaborate across functions; adapt to changing needs and leverage innovative resources.
- Team and compliance: Demonstrate Team Lilly Behaviors; contribute to team goals; execute role in a compliant manner in accordance with internal and external requirements, procedures, and laws.
Qualifications
- Required: Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2โ3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience; OR Masters/Bachelorโs in health sciences (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) with 5+ years of clinical/research/industry experience in relevant area.
- Required: Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Lilly will not sponsor work authorization/visas.
- Required: Valid U.S. driverโs license and acceptable driving record.
- Preferred: Dermatology therapeutic area experience; field-based working environment experience; familiarity with health systems, academic communities, medical research, and medical education processes.
- Preferred: Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, self-direction, strong presentation/computer skills, and excellent verbal/written communication; ability to manage multiple priorities; proficiency with field-based electronic tools.
