Purpose
Scientific and Clinical Experts (SEs/CEs) require in-depth, cutting-edge therapeutic-area information; the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) program provides field-based medical professionals with deep content knowledge. MSLs facilitate scientific exchange, communicate strategic feedback from customer interactions, and address important clinical and scientific questions.

Responsibilities
- Scientific knowledge: Maintain technical expertise through continuous learning; provide unbiased, accurate, up-to-date medical/scientific information.
- Customer engagement: Spend most time on customer-facing activities as a primary interface between Lilly medical and SEs/CEs; connect customers to appropriate internal resources; facilitate collaborative research and external opportunities.
- Territory ownership: Use strategic analysis/planning/prioritization; implement/evaluate territory plan; take accountability for results; use territory analytics for identification and routing; ensure compliant partnerships across field roles.
- Strategic vision and leadership: Synthesize and communicate actionable clinical/customer insights to internal medical and cross-functional teams; use good judgment and escalate as appropriate; cultivate internal networks and collaborate across functions.
- Execute in a compliant manner and demonstrate Team Lilly Behaviors (Include, Innovate, Accelerate, Deliver).

Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) required; 2–3 years relevant experience desired. OR Masters/bachelor level (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) with 5+ years clinical/research/industry experience.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time (Lilly does not sponsor visas).
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Additional Preferences
- Cardiometabolic therapeutic area experience.
- Travel up to 80%; work 4–6 weekends/year; live near a transport hub.
- Intellectual curiosity; learning agility; self-directed; advanced presentation/computer skills; strategic/critical thinking; strong verbal/written communication; ability to use field-based electronic tools; resiliency; high emotional intelligence/teamwork; experience servicing complex customer information; professional networking; field-based experience; familiarity with health systems/academia/research/medical education.

Benefits/Compensation
- Anticipated wage: $151,500–$244,200; eligible for company bonus (based on company/individual performance) and a comprehensive benefits program (401(k), pension, vacation, medical/dental/vision/prescription, flexible benefits, life insurance, time off/leave, well-being).
