Role Summary

Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison – Women’s Health, US leads field-based Medical Science Liaison activities in support of Viatris Women's Health assets. The role involves external, non-promotional engagement with healthcare professionals and KOLs, development of independent medical education materials, and alignment with Medical Affairs strategy. The position requires remote work with extensive travel to cover US territories, working collaboratively with the US Women’s Health MSL Team Lead and Medical Lead to provide objective, evidence-based medical information.

Responsibilities

  • KOL Relationship Management (e.g., understand medical education needs, align KOL selection with strategy)
  • Innovation (e.g., meet HCP education needs, increase use of innovative education materials)
  • Engage in non-promotional, truthful, evidence-based, and non-misleading communications with KOLs/HCPs using MRC-approved materials
  • Draft, execute, monitor & adapt independent US MSL Stakeholder Engagement Plans for target KOLs/HCPs
  • Receive support/direction for asset/disease state MSL activities including travel, HCP interactions, and congress attendance
  • Provide monthly summaries of activities & achievements to the US Women‚Äôs Health MSL Team Lead
  • Submit expense reports and PTO/vacation requests timely
  • Document HCP Interactions in VEEVA
  • Respond to unsolicited medical requests (UMRs) from HCPs or external stakeholders
  • Identify and communicate internally activities of rival Medical Affairs organizations
  • Identify and communicate internally unmet medical education needs of target KOLs/HCPs
  • Partner to develop independent, innovative medical education materials that address unmet educational needs
  • Gather and communicate KOL insights to inform independent Medical strategy
  • Develop and communicate independent Ad Board, Congress & Customer Insight Reports
  • Staff independent Medical Affairs booths at congresses/conventions
  • Provide training to internal Viatris functions on products and disease states using approved materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or clinical setting. Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required. OB/GYN experience required or equivalent combination of experience/education.
  • Knowledge of US Women‚Äôs Health MSL roles, clinical trials, relevant therapeutic areas; understanding of SOPs, promotional laws/regulations, PhRMA Code, ACCME Standards, and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and manage collaborative relationships with KOLs, medical professionals, academic institutions, and Patient Advocacy Groups. Strong analytic and organizational skills; ability to interpret clinical data and draw implications. Self-driven, accountable, high performance, and adaptable; commitment to DEI.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex research, write scientific reports, and present to executives and external groups.
  • Ability to perform calculations and interpret graphical data; pharmaceutical calculations experience preferred.
  • Problem-solving skills with semi-standardized solutions requiring ingenuity and analysis; ability to follow detailed procedures.
  • Role functions semi-autonomously with no direct supervisory responsibilities; reports to US Women‚Äôs Health MSL Team Lead.
  • Remote role with extensive travel required (50%‚Äì80% of time); travel may include overnight and weekend trips; territory may change over time.

Education

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required
