Job Description
The Associate Director of Market Research will act as a strategic partner for the Rheumatology Commercial team, focusing on growth for the Rheumatology RA business, including AbbVie’s Omni-Channel Pilot (Project LOOP). Design and implement a Learning Plan to build the team’s foundational understanding of the market and partner with Marketing on key decisions in Positioning, Targeting, Campaign, Brand Story, and Interactive Sales Aid development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as intelligence partner across RA Marketing and cross-functional teams; provide strategic insights, build trusted relationships, and highlight emerging trends.
- Synthesize learnings across market research, analytics, and competitive intelligence to develop actionable insights and recommendations.
- Maintain organizational knowledge of the market, competitive trends, and industry developments; communicate to internal stakeholders.
- Be conversant with custom research methods; manage suppliers and stakeholders.
- Represent the voice of the customer with objectivity and lack of bias; build relationships as a team player.
- Present learnings confidently across all organizational levels.
Qualifications:
- BA or BS required; MA/MS/MBA/PhD preferred.
- ~10 years relevant market research experience required.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
- Strong analytical reasoning, intellectual curiosity, business acumen, organization, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving.
- Ability to present verbally and in writing to all organizational levels.
- Proven experience on high-performing teams.
- Aptitude navigating a heavily matrixed, fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership; collaborate cross-functionally and with external agencies.
