Role Summary
The Associate Director will lead MAVYRET consumer marketing, setting strategic direction, gathering insights, creating new tactics, and planning and optimizing a significant media plan. They will lead agencies to develop best-in-class marketing that resonates with patients in a competitive environment, and manage a marketing manager. The role requires collaboration with multiple internal teams and external partners to drive brand strategy and execution.
Responsibilities
The Associate Director will work closely with multiple commercial operations teams to ensure success in the development of strategy, creative and execution plans. Internally, the Associate Director will foster positive working relationships with the sales force, medical affairs, medical review, market research, sales training, regulatory review, business analytics, paid media, the Digital Lab and other cross franchise teams. Externally, the Associate Director owns the relationship with various ad agencies, consultants, and other vendors to successfully drive the business. The AD must demonstrate the ability to lead without authority, while building a collaborative, integrated commercial brand team. The Associate Director will own the overall strategy for the brand, including the direction for two campaigns, one to drive patients to test for hepatitis C, and another to drive differentiation between MAVYRET and other hepatitis C treatments.
- Partner with HCP and other internal teams to develop annual strategic and tactical brand plans
- Leading yearly media briefing and planning process across social, digital, point-of-care, out-of-home and TV channels
- Manage creative agencies to develop creative across all channels
- Partner with internal media and digital lab teams to continuously optimize media plans and improve efficiency of in-market tactics
- Manage patient testimonial agency, including recruiting and onboarding new patients, conducting interviews and developing patient testimonial content
- Partner with insights team to conduct patient and messaging research in order to drive future brand strategy and tactics
- Work with HCP and field sales teams to identify and optimize point of care resource needs such as brochures and posters
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Required: Consumer marketing experience in pharma, CPG or other consumer driven industry
- Required: Demonstrated ability to lead a variety of external agencies and internal teams to develop and execute brand plans
- Required: Experience leading annual brand planning activities to drive performance and brand growth
- Required: Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams, including timeline and budget management
- Required: Ability to understand medical/clinical aspects of a pharmaceutical product and its application to marketing strategy and tactical execution
- Preferred: MBA
- Preferred: Pharmaceutical consumer marketing experience
- Preferred: Prio people leadership experience, including building and developing high performing teams
- Preferred: Demonstrated experience planning and executing omnichannel digital marketing programs, including: audience identification, messaging development, media planning, creative development, and campaign optimization
- Preferred: Ability to influence senior management
- Preferred: Demonstrated ability to work within regulated industry
