Role Summary

The Associate Director, Market Research – Rare Disease (RD) is a key member of the Insights and Analytics team responsible for delivering market and customer insights through market research to drive strategic and tactical decisions across Sanofi. This role partners with Commercial leadership, leading the development and application of advanced market research methodologies to unlock the potential of Rare Disease brands and pipeline assets. Based in Cambridge, MA, the position reports to the Senior Director, Insights & Analytics – Rare Disease.

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate a highly relevant and impactful insight agenda for the US Rare Disease business, identifying needs and recommending solutions supported by the US Insights & Analytics lead for Rare Disease
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the US Commercial team, informing decisions on launch readiness, brand strategy, stakeholder communications, and related initiatives
  • Support and inform standard US Commercial processes such as performance tracking and demand forecasting, including alignment of competitive insights
  • Build and maintain partnerships across a matrixed environment (US commercial, Insights & Analytics, Global) with aligned project coordination
  • Partner with Insights vendors to design, execute, and report market research studies that deliver actionable insights relevant to current business needs
  • Manage projects, coordinating internal and external teams from vision through fieldwork and reporting
  • Communicate data and insights clearly with a business focus and clear calls to action; collaborate with forecasting, analytics, and patient services to deliver integrated recommendations
  • Operate insight workstreams on time, within budget, and compliantly
  • Provide subject-matter expertise to lead and develop colleagues where applicable

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor‚Äôs degree
  • Preferred: Advanced degree (MBA, MS, MD, PhD)

Skills

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical market research or equivalent
  • Strong primary market research capabilities across quantitative and qualitative methodologies
  • Experience with secondary/syndicated pharmaceutical data sources (prescription and sales data, patient claims, promotional audits)
  • Ability to translate data into actionable solutions and interpret directional vs. statistically significant results
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead multiple workstreams and deliver results on time and compliantly
  • Proven track record of building trust and strategic partnerships with US Commercial teams
  • Experience collaborating with related functions (New Product Planning, Marketing, Value & Access, etc.)
  • Curiosity and drive to innovate in Insights & Analytics

Education

  • Bachelor‚Äôs degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, MD, PhD) preferred
