Associate Director, Market Access Insights Introduction to the role The Associate Director of Market Access Insights plays a crucial role in supporting the Market Access customer-facing teams. This role involves compiling and evaluating customer performance metrics and market analysis to guide the strategic planning and execution of brand strategies. Success requires an enterprise mindset, strong influence without authority, and deep understanding of the Market Access landscape. In this position, the AD will act as a key liaison between various Market Access customer segments, Contract Operations, Access Strategy, Portfolio Contract Strategy, AZ IT, technical vendors/consultants, and Brand Insights. Collaborating closely with the Director of Market Access Insights, the AD will address ad-hoc data inquiries, identify desired outcomes, and make recommendations to enhance both the provided insights across Market Access and the tools and capabilities used to support planning, performance measurement, operational improvements, and enterprise-wide alignment on Market Access priorities. Accountabilities: Act as the dedicated lead to liaison with Market Access stakeholders to identify insights across Market Access priority accounts and to inform comprehensive Market Access Portfolio & Enterprise and Pipeline strategies. Proactively leverage available analytical tools, market research and other resources to identify key opportunities to increase access and understanding of the needs of Market Access customers, providing insights based on a deep knowledge of markets, brands, and the health care market. Collaborating across Market Access, Access Strategy, Portfolio Contract Strategy, Legal, Medical, Compliance, Government Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Finance, Brand Teams and Sales to provide clear and consistent insight and analytics as input into strategic business decisions including evaluating, planning and development, and performance for Market Access Account Leadership across the entire AZ portfolio to inform brand and account strategies. Work closely with the Market Access Leadership Team to develop and maintain an understanding of the key customer-related market trends specific to their accounts, geographical areas, and/or customers identify growth opportunities, gaps, and strategic conflicts; recommend and drive mitigation or optimization plans. Represent account team interests in internal forums to ensure alignment across Access Strategy, Portfolio Contract Strategy, Legal, Medical, Compliance, Government Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Finance, Brand, and Sales. Work with service providers and AZ IT to create and deliver new analytical systems and tools that support key managed market business objectives. Prioritize workload across key customers to dedicate capacity time and resources accordingly. Ability to manage and lead numerous projects at the same time, especially large-scale projects. Effectively manage without authority and provide direction and coordination of strategic initiatives. Identify and propose long term improvements in internal processes, systems, and cross functional collaboration. Occasional travel may be required based on customer/account requirements and to attend key industry events. Essential Skills/Experience: Bachelor’s degree; preferably in a related field 3-5 years of pharmaceutical or related healthcare business Exceptional stakeholder management capabilities Understanding of Market Access and Healthcare delivery Ability to perform analysis using multiple quantitative and qualitative sources to translate data into actionable recommendations Experience in Market Access information sources, primary market research, forecasting, promotion response insights, and business intelligence Strong Market Access business acumen with ability to understand and interpret information from multiple sources Results oriented with excellent communication and collaboration skills Comfortable working in ambiguity with the ability to challenge traditional thinking to solve problems Demonstrated abilities to influence without authority, lead teams and develop/foster relationships with senior leadership Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask Strong Excel capabilities to transform raw data into strategic insight Desirable Skills/Experience: 5+ years of pharmaceutical or related healthcare business.
