Role Summary
Join Takeda as An Associate Director, Market Access and Channel Strategy out of our Cambridge, MA office. You will develop and oversee sustainable market access and channel strategies that will ensure assigned products achieve the most optimal access positions for our patients. You will contribute to the development of payer marketing strategies and tactics to support inline and launch brands. You will be responsible for supporting products across GI Rare and Neuroscience franchises.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of sustainable market access and channel strategies that will ensure assigned gastroenterology (GI) and neuroscience (NS) products achieve the most optimal access positions for existing and future products
- Ensures close collaboration with other Managed Markets colleagues along with Medical, HEOR, Marketing, Finance, Analytics and Sales colleagues to capture relevant payer insights, identify data gaps, and develop compelling value propositions for field-based teams
- Understands reimbursement landscape and incorporates into market access & pricing strategy
- Collaborates with HEOR in the development of payer evidence needs and ensures it is integrated into the Medical/HEOR evidence plan
- Executes payer and channel specific marketing plans to achieve patient and business objectives
- Ensures brand plans incorporate the needs of patient, payer and healthcare provider
- Aligns organization on metrics to assess impact of key market access strategies and tactics
- Contributes to annual brand planning, forecasting, and budgeting process to represent payer and channel customer segment
- Identifies, as appropriate, payer/ system specific opportunities for innovative arrangements based on brand strategies in collaboration with Strategic Partnerships
- Oversees payer and channel market research for relevant products
- Works to actively develop next generation of Market Access and Channel Strategy talent
Qualifications
- Required: BachelorβΓΓ΄s degree in related field; MBA, PharmD, or MS in health sciences related field preferred
- Required: 8+ years of experience in biopharma market access, health economics and outcomes research, or directly within a payer organization
- Required: Understanding of US payer market dynamics and how managed care organizations make decisions across commercial and public channels
- Required: Knowledge across multiple market channels including payer, PBM, IDN, GPO, specialty pharmacy, etc.
- Required: Knowledge of specialty pharmacy (how they operate, drivers, strengths, etc.) to ensure a positive patient experience
- Preferred: Knowledge of specialty products
- Required: Knowledge of the commercial brand planning processes
- Required: Experience working cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Legal, Finance, Analytics, Public Affairs, etc.
- Required: Financial acumen including resource allocation, budget management and reporting, strategic sourcing, and P&L evaluation
- Required: Analytical capabilities to ensure robust inputs to decision-making
