Role Summary

This role leads all Plant Maintenance functions, including maintenance execution, calibration, planning and scheduling, spare parts management, and reliability engineering. It ensures the delivery of safe, compliant, and cost-effective maintenance and reliability services that support uninterrupted manufacturing operations and business objectives. As a key member of the Site Engineering Leadership Team, you will provide strategic direction across maintenance, calibration, and reliability disciplines and coach site leadership to drive best practices, continuous improvement, and sustainable performance. For smaller sites, the scope may also include Facilities Management and Utility Operations. Location: USA - GA - Social Circle - Hwy 278.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the site maintenance and calibration strategy, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable operations.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing maintenance organization, including maintenance, calibration, spare parts, planning & scheduling, and reliability (with facilities and utilities oversight at smaller sites).
  • Serve as a member of the Site Engineering Leadership Team, partnering closely with Manufacturing and site stakeholders.
  • Own the maintenance budget and asset lifecycle strategy, driving reliability, cost control, and long-term performance.
  • Ensure uninterrupted support for 24/7 manufacturing operations, including utilities, shutdowns, and emergency response.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, Quality, and EHS requirements, including audit readiness and closure of deviations and CAPAs.
  • Collaborate with regional and global engineering partners to share best practices and implement standardized solutions.
  • Develop and track key performance metrics, using data to improve maintenance and reliability outcomes.
  • Foster a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, required training, and alignment with Takedaโ€™s Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of maintenance and technical experience, including 5+ years of people leadership, preferably in a pharmaceutical and/or GMP-regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP regulations, maintenance and reliability best practices, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., DMAIC, FMEA, Kaizen, Gemba, Root Cause Analysis).
  • Experience using CMMS systems and managing maintenance and reliability KPIs.
  • Working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
  • Relevant professional licensure or certifications are a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Work in a controlled manufacturing environment requiring gowning and protective clothing; PPE may include hearing protection.
  • Possibility of shift work, including weekends or supplemental hours, and availability outside regular business hours.
  • Work around chemicals and other materials requiring respiratory protection.
  • Able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Combination of sedentary work and walking around the facility; may require working in cleanroom environments requiring gowning.
