Role Summary

The Associate Director/Lead, US Solid Tumor Forecasting will lead US forecasting activities for the solid tumor franchise, as part of the Global Insights and Analytics organization. This role serves as a strategic partner to the US Oncology Business Unit, delivering short- and mid-range forecasts and relevant insights to drive the business. The position is based in Cambridge, MA and reports to the Head of Forecasting, Solid Tumors, Global Oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic business partner for US commercial leads by driving forecast strategy and providing data-driven insights to inform the broader brand strategy
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders and peers across Brand Teams, Market Access, Finance, Data Management and Global/US I&A Teams
  • Leverage strong analytical capabilities and experience to create clear actionable insights that are responsive to business needs
  • Implement best-in-class forecast modeling approaches and actively evaluate current forecasting processes/methodologies for opportunities to enhance capabilities, with a focus on accuracy and agility
  • Effectively communicate modeling assumptions to key stakeholders
  • Triangulate and pressure-test assumptions with various data sources and models, and develop what-if scenarios
  • Integrate insights from primary research, competitive intelligence, and analytics to inform the forecast
  • Provide context and forecasting leadership to cross-functional partners (e.g., Finance, Supply, Trade) to ensure the potential impact of commercial strategies are planned for
  • Performance analytics and commercial decision support for inline products, ensuring quality of output and recommendations, as well as timeliness and business relevance

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree
  • Advanced degree preferred (PhD or Master's)
  • Minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in forecasting or a quantitative role in Commercial Insights, Analytics or Finance in the biopharmaceutical industry and/or 10+ years of consulting experience in forecasting or business analytics
  • Oncology experience required; US market experience highly preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at different levels of the organization and support/influence decisions as a business partner
  • Knowledge of secondary data sets including claims, EMR, specialty pharmacy data required
  • Advanced Excel modeling experience required; experience with SQL, Power BI, SAS, VBA, Python, data visualization tools preferred
  • Familiarity with forecasting methodologies and quantitative techniques including smoothing, regression, time series analyses, Monte-Carlo simulations required
  • Strong project management skills a must, including the ability to plan, organize and execute multiple projects independently, on time and within budget
  • Proven ability to explain complex concepts to stakeholders and drive consensus building
  • Strong ability to think strategically and proactively anticipate business needs
