Role Summary

The Associate Director, IT Medical Affairs Lead shapes and delivers the technology and data strategy that supports BridgeBio’s affiliate-based global Medical Affairs teams. This role ensures each team has the systems, insights, and digital capabilities needed for compliant, data-driven scientific engagement and operational excellence. The role combines strategic vision with hands-on expertise in Medical Affairs applications, analytics, and AI innovation, and is based in San Francisco with a hybrid cadence of three in-office days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the Medical Affairs IT roadmap, ensuring alignment with IT, Medical Affairs, and Commercial strategies
  • Serve as the system owner for core Medical Affairs platforms including Veeva Medical CRM, Medical Information, Grants, Publications, and Insights Management
  • Manage vendor relationships, release schedules, and system lifecycle activities
  • Define and implement Medical Affairs data governance and analytics frameworks, ensuring compliance with privacy, GxP, and data protection standards
  • Partner with Medical Affairs and IT teams to deliver dashboards and insights that support evidence generation and field medical effectiveness
  • Identify, manage, deliver AI and automation opportunities to enhance literature summarization, insight capture, and operational workflows for medical affairs teams
  • Lead digital adoption, user training, and change management to help Medical Affairs teams effectively use new tools and capabilities

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of IT experience supporting Medical Affairs or related functions in the biopharma industry, with proven success managing applications, integrations, and analytics in regulated environments
  • Strong knowledge of Veeva Medical CRM, PromoMats, Medical Information, Grants, Publications, KOL and Insights Management systems
  • Skilled in BI and data integration tools such as Power BI and Snowflake, with practical experience in AI and automation use cases
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to translate business needs into practical technology solutions; strong vendor management, contracting, SLA governance, and project delivery skills, with demonstrated launch readiness experience
  • Collaborative and outcome-oriented, focused on achieving system reliability, driving user adoption, improving operational efficiency, and delivering integrated Medical Affairs dashboards
  • Builds strong partnerships across IT, Medical Affairs, and Commercial functions to align technology initiatives with strategic priorities and enable better patient outcomes

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, life sciences, or related field; advanced degree such as MBA, MS, or MPH preferred
