Role Summary

Associate Director - IT API Site. Lead IT operations and strategic planning for new API manufacturing sites, partnering with site leadership to enable manufacturing readiness and IT excellence at Lilly’s Texas or Virginia sites.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure site operational readiness from IT perspective, including integration of IT systems across infrastructure, ERP, warehouse management, MES, data historians, data integration, analytics, data integrity, LIMS, CAPA, access security, building monitoring, risk management, and related systems.
  • Serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team and provide IT site functional leadership.
  • Develop and implement the site IT strategic and business plan; benchmark innovative solutions; adapt roadmaps to site evolution and new trends; partner cross-functionally to establish and implement site IT roadmap.
  • Maintain a safe work environment; ensure staffing to meet site and functional goals; lead, coach, and develop team members; foster a site culture aligned with Lilly values and operational excellence standards; support DEI in recruiting and development.
  • Lead recognition, pay and promotion decisions; lead talent assessment and succession planning; support site recruiting to build IT capability.
  • Provide leadership for cGMP and IT improvement plans; define and execute IT inspection readiness activities.
  • Ensure the IT organization is functionally strong and operationally focused; maintain a solution-focused organization; provide prioritization and barrier removal; oversee technical activities and encourage knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering or related field.
  • Required: Minimum 7 years of IT leadership experience, with proven oversight of multiple projects.
  • Required: Experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects and programs, including MES, data integration and analytics; experience in Pharma and GMP manufacturing.
  • Preferred: Experience leading IT groups in pharmaceutical programs/projects; startup experience for a new facility or clinical development manufacturing site; proven cross-functional leadership; active engagement in industry forums/standards.
  • Preferred: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess risks, manage trade-offs, and make decisions; excellent communication and leadership skills for stakeholder interactions at all levels.

Additional Requirements

  • Role is on-site, Monday through Friday; occasional extended hours or off-hours support may be required.
