Role Summary
Associate Director - IT API Site. Responsible for IT leadership and site readiness at Lilly’s new API manufacturing sites in Texas or Virginia, driving IT strategy, operation excellence, and cross-functional collaboration to enable safe and compliant manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure site operational readiness from IT perspective, including startup and integration of IT systems
- Infrastructure, Enterprise Resource Planning, Warehouse management & logistics coordination
- Manufacturing Execution System, Data historian, Real Time Floor Tracking
- Data Integration, Data Analytics, Data Integrity
- Laboratory information management, CAPA systems, Access Security, Building Monitoring
- Risk Management, MES, and other manufacturing IT components
- Serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team and provide IT site functional leadership
- Develop and implement site IT strategic and business plan
- Benchmark innovative solutions and adapt road map to site evolution and trends
- Partner cross-functionally locally and globally to establish and implement site IT roadmap
- Maintain a safe work environment; manage staffing to meet site goals
- Lead, coach, and develop team members; foster Lilly values and operational excellence
- Support diversity, equity and inclusion in recruiting and development
- Lead recognition, pay, and promotion decisions; oversee talent assessment and succession planning
- Support site recruiting to build IT capability
- Provide leadership for cGMP IT improvement plans and inspection readiness
- Ensure IT organization remains functionally strong and operationally focused
- Maintain a solution-focused organization; prioritize and remove barriers
- Oversee technical activities and promote knowledge sharing
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering or related field
- Required: Minimum 7 years of IT leadership experience, with a track record overseeing multiple projects
- Required: Experience managing large-scale, cross-functional projects and programs including MES, Data Integration and Analytics
- Required: Experience in Pharma and GMP manufacturing
- Preferred: Experience leading IT groups in pharmaceutical programs/projects; startup experience at a new facility or clinical development manufacturing site
- Preferred: Proven leadership of cross-functional teams; active participation in industry forums and standards organizations
- Required: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and leadership abilities

Additional Requirements
- On-site role, Monday through Friday; occasional extended hours or off-hours may be required
- Position based in a new Lilly API manufacturing site in Texas or Virginia
- Travel: approximately 5-10% of business travel
