Role Summary
The Associate Director of International External Expert Engagement & Peer to Peer (EE) Engagement & P2P leads the strategy and implementation of the EE and P2P Dermatology portfolio plans. This role is a key member of the Dermatology team, providing guidance to brands, cross-functional teams, areas, affiliates, external experts, and agency partners. It requires a marketing leader with proven expertise in gathering, translating, and applying external expert insights to shape development strategies and initiatives that drive brand success.
Responsibilities
- Primary point of contact for AbbVie Dermatology Marketing with top international external experts to identify, build, and maintain relationships that strengthen brand equity and position AbbVie as the partner of choice
- Generate, interpret, and communicate insights that inform commercial strategy and tactical deliverables through oversight and execution of external consultancy activities and advisory boards
- Lead and maintain the development of a comprehensive P2P content ecosystem that supports strategy and aligns content/messaging across omnichannel for effective affiliate localization
- Train and equip external speakers to deliver compelling peer-to-peer education that clearly conveys clinical data
- Provide direction to affiliates on optimal execution of best-in-class P2P meetings and events
- Work closely with Area and Affiliates to ensure the P2P platform addresses business needs
- Effectively manage external expert communications—both in writing and verbally—and represent AbbVie’s interests during interactions with external stakeholders
- Prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and deliver high-quality work on time in a fast-paced environment
- Manage all external expert engagements in line with AbbVie processes and procedures, ensuring global and affiliate compliance needs are met
- Manage phased budgets in collaboration with Finance and Brand Team Leads
- Develop relationships with AbbVie Central Consultancy Group (CCG) and Business Services Group (BSG) to ensure timely contracting and full service provision for congresses, external training, and education events
- Effectively manage agency partners to ensure excellent delivery of tactical education programs within required timelines and AbbVie review processes
- Manage Veeva Vault process for commercial training and education content review
Qualifications
- Industry Experience: Previous international area and/or affiliate exposure is ideal
- Leadership: Ability to influence cross-functional and cross-geographical teams without direct authority
- Strategic Thinking: Strong organizational skills with the ability to create well-structured execution plans
- Communication & Networking: Strong written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal skills; experience working with and managing multiple internal partners and external agencies

- Project Management: Proven ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects effectively

- Experience: 5+ years of experience in marketing
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Science or equivalent; MBA preferred
