Role Summary

Associate Director, HR Process Excellence at Vertex (Boston, MA). Lead initiatives to improve HR processes, enhance efficiency, and improve the employee experience. Partner with cross-functional teams to drive high-visibility, high-value business improvement initiatives and ensure initiatives meet scope and deliverables within time and cost constraints. Report to the Vice President, Global HR Operations, Digital Innovation & People Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage HR process improvement projects using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Analyze current HR processes to identify areas of improvement and partner with key stakeholders to implement solutions.
  • Drive a structured project management approach to manage timelines and deliverables, ensuring ownership and accountability for change across the organization; overcome challenges and manage risks to achieve results.
  • Develop a forward-thinking strategy for identifying process gaps and potential initiatives to improve workplace effectiveness.
  • Manage the pipeline of opportunities, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact.
  • Ensure appropriate change enablement support is in place before, during, and after implementation.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in process optimization projects.
  • Establish metrics to measure success and sustainability of improvements; conduct post-implementation effectiveness and satisfaction reviews.
  • Contribute to knowledge-building by sharing lessons learned.
  • Partner with information systems teams to ensure alignment between processes and systems; communicate process requirements to ensure systems implementations achieve desired results.
  • Define and establish global standards and tools to support continuous improvement across HR functional groups.
  • Manage project team members and promote rotation of high-performing talent; support tracking and reporting of progress and results.
  • Plan, execute, and support projects to maximize ROI.
  • Build out process excellence capability within HR and enable AI initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Specialized project management skills with experience driving change and executing improvement actions with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating process diagnostics and training on process improvement tools/methodologies.
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills with experience in Lean Six Sigma, RPA, and solid analytical aptitude.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Familiarity with HR technology and tools supporting process automation is a plus; knowledge of Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented and collaborative; ability to coach and manage hands-on while fostering improvement culture.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification; RPA tools knowledge or certifications.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Typically requires 8 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a consulting or process improvement role
