Role Summary
The Associate Director of GMQLD within the Central Functions team drives excellence in learning and capability-building across global/central Manufacturing & Quality departments and site functions. This role leads a team of learning strategists to design, implement, and sustain premier learning solutions that enable operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and performance in pharmaceutical M&Q operations. It focuses on data-driven training effectiveness, benchmarking, and standardized enterprise training across sites.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Governance: Implement and influence the global MQ L&D learning strategy; set and supervise performance standards aligned with industry benchmarks; translate regulatory requirements into actionable learning plans; champion a modern learning culture with interactive, digital, and experiential solutions.
- Data & Performance Measurement: Drive learning effectiveness using real-time data and analytics; track on-time completions, overdue learners, time-to-qualification, curriculum currency, audit observations, deviation trends, training load forecasting, and training reduction; partner with Manufacturing and Quality to integrate training metrics into site, network, and global reviews.
- Learning Strategy & Execution: Design and implement function-specific L&D solutions supporting compliance, manufacturing excellence, and employee development; continuously improve curricula, content, and qualification programs; collaborate with Quality, Operations, HR, and SMEs; advocate for technology-enabled learning (AI, simulations, digital academies, just-in-time learning).
- Stakeholder Partnership: Align training with business priorities and learner capability gaps; represent MQ L&D in global inspections and audits as a subject matter authority on compliance and learning systems.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor’s degree; minimum of 5+ years in Learning & Development, Talent Development, Data Analytics and Manufacturing Training in regulated environments; authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Instructional Systems Technology, Performance Technology, Adult Learning, Human Resources, or related; CPTD/ATD certification or similar; experience in GMP-regulated environments; experience leading learning transformation initiatives in manufacturing; strong governance, audit readiness, and inspection preparedness; proficiency with LMS and AI-driven analytics; excellent communication and change-management skills; ability to lead across functions and geographies.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree minimum; Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
