Position Purpose
- Associate Director β Global Thought Leader External Engagement provides enterprise leadership for the definition, governance, and sustained adoption of global Thought Leader External Engagement (TLEE) process standards and quality frameworks, and compliance guardrails.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, maintain, and evolve global TLEE process standards (contracted and non-contracted) and operational guidance.
- Harmonize end-to-end workflows for Thought Leader identification, planning, engagement, documentation, and evaluation across Global, IBU, and Affiliate teams.
- Reduce unnecessary variation while respecting local regulatory and operational requirements.
- Translate policies, SOPs, and regulatory expectations into clear, role-specific, executable guidance.
- Own/design and continuously improve the global TLEE quality framework; ensure inspection readiness, documentation integrity, and traceability.
- Embed quality expectations into governance, training, and operational guidance for sustainable, compliant execution.
- Serve as compliance enablement lead; partner with Ethics & Compliance, Legal, Privacy, and Quality to interpret requirements and mitigate risk.
- Establish governance models (decision rights, RACI, escalation paths, approval thresholds) and drive consistent application through governance and enablement.
- Operationalize standards and guardrails via global training/adoption strategy, including onboarding and train-the-trainer models.
- Drive adoption using toolkits, communications, structured feedback loops, and measurement of effectiveness and standards evolution.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree with 5+ yearsβ experience in Global Medical Affairs, Marketing, External Engagement, Quality, Compliance, or enterprise capability leadership.
- Authorized to work in the United States full-time; Lilly will not sponsor work authorization/visas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience defining global process standards, playbooks, quality frameworks, and governance models.
- Influence across functions/levels/geographies without line authority.
- Experience partnering with Ethics & Compliance, Legal, Privacy, and Quality.
- Experience developing and deploying global training/train-the-trainer.
- Strong systems thinking, change management, stakeholder engagement; complex global matrix experience.
