Role Summary

Position: Associate Director, Global Medical Immunology & Cardiovascular, Medical Communications. Reports to the Director of Medical Communications within Global Medical Immunology & Cardiovascular, Global Medical Affairs. Responsible for the strategy and execution of medical communication plans and for disclosing and presenting the data and health economic value of BMS products to inform Healthcare Providers, Patients, and Payers in accordance with local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a clear, viable and compelling execution plan aligned with the TA-specific Medical Communications strategy, ensuring delivery of timely and high-quality medical publications, scientific content, medical education, medical information, and congress presentations.
  • Understand communication needs across markets and lead the development and execution of the Scientific Narrative, publication plan, content plan, and application to the Scientific Communication Platform (SCP).
  • Lead development of medical communications and ensure timely journal submissions, publications, congress presentations, and delivery of internal and external scientific content.
  • Manage Medical Communications budget and allocate resources to highest business priorities.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree; PharmD, PhD, or MD preferred.
  • 3–5 years of Pharmaceutical/Healthcare industry experience with a focus on medical communications; local and global experience preferred.
  • Experience leading a large cross-functional team and delivering high performance.
  • Strategic leadership ability, negotiation, collaboration, and management of ambiguity.
  • Experience leading cross-functional, cross-cultural project teams across multiple markets and geographies.
  • Proven ability to manage timelines and quality of work with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience establishing strategic direction for teams and achieving objectives; risk-taking and impactful judgment.
  • Change leadership experience and ability to lead teams through change.
  • Experience in medical communications across all phases of drug development and commercialization; ability to analyze trial data.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate solutions and establish stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to travel.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Pharmaceutical/Healthcare industry knowledge; familiarity with Good Publication Practices (GPP, ICMJE), Sunshine Act, Pharma Code of Conduct.
  • Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) and ISMPP active member highly desired.
  • Understanding of clinical trial design, statistical methods, and reporting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with publication management tools (e.g., DataVision).

Education

  • Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, or MD preferred).
