Corporate Functions
Role Responsibilities:
- Partner with Head of Global Insurance & Risk Management to develop, implement, and manage Global Risk Financing Strategy aligned to group strategy.
- Lead Global Insurance Programs and end-to-end claims lifecycle.
- Manage appointed US global brokers; drive performance to service level agreements; ensure protection of employees/assets/liabilities per global placement strategy.
- Lead negotiation and implementation of US and select global insurance programs (Workers Compensation, Automobile Liability, Cyber Liability); manage US construction/CAPEX risk and project policy placement.
- Oversee reinsurance agreements and KPIs; support stewardship meetings with insurers and partners.
- Lead underwriting submissions, underwriting data gathering/analysis, and premium allocation process (including transfer pricing compliance).
- Act as escalation point; manage claims strategy with legal, evaluate exposures with TPA/handlers, reconcile invoices/settlements, prepare open claims reports, and perform claims audits.
- Support risk engineering (fire risk) and CAPEX insurance/engineering plan reviews; deliver insurance awareness training; support ad hoc risk projects and GIRM onboarding/training.

Qualifications (Required/Preferred):
- Bachelor’s degree (Economics/Finance/Business/Law preferred).
- Strong experience in insurance risk management (client-facing or as buyer).
- Strong understanding of global insurance programs/client servicing; knowledge of global insurance markets and global legislation/regulations/local practice.
- Association of Chartered Insurance Institute qualified/part qualified or equivalent strong academic achievement.
- Life sciences sector experience preferred.

- International travel from time to time; Hybrid (Cambridge, MA; at least 8 onsite days/month; commutable distance).

Compensation/Benefits (as stated):
- Base salary range: $154,400–$242,550; eligible for short/long-term incentives and benefits (medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, disability, life, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, well-being; up to 80 sick hours and up to 120 hours paid vacation for new hires annually).
