About the Role:
- Work with the Head of Global Insurance and Risk Management to support the development, implementation, and management of the Global Risk Financing Strategy.
- Lead specific Global Insurance Programs and the end-to-end claims lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with global regulations and legislation.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Global Insurance responsibilities.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders; develop/modify policies to solve complex problems with broad business impact.

Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage appointed US global brokers and drive performance to service level agreements.
- Protect Takeda employees, assets, and liabilities per global insurance placement strategy.
- Negotiate and implement key US (and some global) insurance programs (Workers Compensation, Automobile Liability, Cyber Liability) and manage US construction/CAPEX risk and project policies.
- Act as an escalation point for other Global Insurance Programs and risk processes; support management of the main US broker.
- Develop and lead global premium allocation process (including transfer pricing compliance); oversee reinsurance agreements and KPIs.
- Lead stewardship meetings; manage underwriting data gathering/analysis, underwriting submissions, and market presentations.
- Oversee business support as a Centre of Excellence; recommend process improvements; support captive renewals, documentation, and claims processes; provide contract management guidance.
- Provide claims management direction (with TPA/claims handlers), liaison with Legal on claims/litigation strategy, reconcile invoices/settlements, prepare open claims reports, and conduct claims audits/reviews.
- Support Risk Engineering Program and CAPEX insurance process/engineering plan reviews.
- Manage insurance management information systems; deliver insurance awareness training; support risk projects; onboard/train GIRM team.

Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Economics, Finance, Business, Law preferred).
- Strong insurance risk management experience; strong understanding of global insurance programs and client servicing.
- Knowledge of global insurance markets, legislation/regulations/local practice; strong US broker/insurer network.
- Chartered Insurance Institute qualified/part qualified or equivalent academic achievements.
- Life Sciences experience preferred.

Compensation/Benefits (if applicable):
- US base salary range: $154,400.00 - $242,550.00.
