The role of Assoc Dir of Field Sales Capabilities is a strategic performance and leadership development partner to an assigned Area Commercial Lead (ACL) and leadership team, enabling sustained behavior, change, and performance through performance consulting, leadership development, instructional design, and delivery.

Essential Functions
Field Sales Excellence & Leadership Capability Development
- Create synergy between Sales and Employee Experience through effective delivery of the P&O operating model to transform field capabilities.
- Design, implement, and sustain leadership-focused learning/enablement for field sales onboarding, product launches, expansions, and leadership transitions.
- Translate enterprise/commercial strategy into field-ready leadership capability standards (β€œwhat good looks like”).
- Align initiatives to execution priorities and long-term objectives to drive sustained behavior change (not one-time training).
- Oversee workshop execution to develop and evaluate leadership competencies.

Leadership Enablement & Performance Consulting
- Bridge strategy and execution; equip leaders with skills, routines, and accountability mechanisms.
- Identify leadership capability gaps and root causes; design targeted solutions that drive measurable changes.
- Design scalable learning journeys to move from activity-based to outcome-based performance.
- Oversee leadership and sales capability workshop development, reinforcement, and evaluation.

Client & Center of Expertise – Leadership Capabilities
- Serve as Center of Expertise and subject matter expert for leadership curricula (individual contributor, first-, and second-line).
- Lead design/delivery/evolution/sustainment of Emerging Leader and second-line programs aligned to Leading Self/Leading People/Leading Business.

Measurement, Insight & Continuous Improvement
- Use behavior-based measurement frameworks and coaching/performance indicators; report impact to senior stakeholders.

Innovation, Digital Enablement & Sustainability
- Design technology-enabled leadership solutions; embed capabilities into daily routines and performance management.

Physical Requirements
- 50–75% overnight travel; location anywhere in the US, ideally within the territory.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years in pharmaceutical sales, management, and/or sales training.
- 10+ years building organizational capabilities (leadership development, curriculum design, behavioral capability building).
- Proven experience leading sales management and leadership development across first- and second-line leaders (preferred).
- Strong adult learning theory and modern L&D knowledge; ability to translate learning into sustained behavior change.
- Strategic/business acumen: interpret complex challenges, identify root causes, recommend scalable solutions.
- Executive presence; strong cross-functional communication/negotiation in matrixed environments.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives; adapt plans to resource/operational/change constraints.
- Experience managing external vendors/partners for leadership development and instructional design.

Compensation/Benefits (as stated)
- Base compensation range: $152,700 to $267,300; eligible for company bonus.
- Eligible for long-term incentive compensation and/or company vehicles.
