Associate Director, Field Reimbursement (Non-Opioid Pain Therapeutic area)
Responsibilities (Essential Duties):
- Provide live one-on-one support as an extension of EXPAREL & ZILRETTA.
- Support reimbursement journey from physician order through payer prior authorization, requirements, and appeals/denials.
- Review patient-specific information to resolve coverage issues when requested.
- Review patient insurance benefit options.
- Coordinate with patient support services program representatives.
- Educate physician office staff on call center support services and web-based provider programs.
- Provide reimbursement topic information for the Pacira portfolio.
- Serve as payer expert for defined geography and communicate changes to stakeholders.
- Provide office support for accurate coding and billing for the portfolio.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in Health Policy, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 6+ years related healthcare industry experience.
- 3+ years relevant reimbursement experience, managing targeted reimbursement relationships.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Managed care and Medicare/Medicaid payer policy knowledge.
- Benefit verification and prior authorization requirements.
- Reimbursement and billing processes in physician offices; ability to interpret payer policy for PA/formulary exception/appeals documentation.
- Specialty buy-and-bill coding and in-office program management best practices.
- Proven experience managing medical billing/coding including appeals and denials.
- Strong written/verbal communication and executive-level presentation skills.
- Strategic, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; ability to partner across the organization.
- Understanding of CMS and commercial payment models/trends.
- Valid driverβs license.
