Associate Director, External Manufacturing

Primary Responsibilities:
- Dispute resolution with appropriate escalation
- Balance company delivery requirements with contract manufacturer production plans (materials management: ERP transactions, logistics)
- Oversight of shop floor production; determine when ExM functional reps should deploy to contract manufacturers
- Continuous improvement activities
- Partner with Procurement to identify/select new contract manufacturers and negotiate/terminate supply agreements
- Collect contract manufacturer capacity info and drive recommendations for capacity expansion
- Ensure alignment of supply and quality agreements
- Execute ERP transactions for receipt/movement of company-owned inventory; book-to-physical reconciliation; document and witness destruction
- Ensure execution of contract terms (POs, forecasts, deliveries, invoice payments) in compliance with the supply agreement
- Partner with ExM company production system experts and other functions to identify CI opportunities
- Project management support to DP NA regional team
- Travel up to 50%
Education Minimum Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Medical, Science, Business, or related)
Required Experience and Skills:
- 8+ years combined in commercial/business and manufacturing (operations, project management, quality, technology, supply chain, etc.) in pharma/chemical (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of Drug Substance manufacturing unit operations and shop floor activities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, project management, collaboration, negotiation, analytical and influencing skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team coordination
- Cultural awareness and sensitivities
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Recent ExM operations/site operations
- Knowledge of domestic/foreign regulations and compendia
- Lean project implementation
- Strong influencing skills
