Role Summary

Associate Director - Executive Protection based in Indianapolis, IN, reporting to the Sr. Director of Executive Protection. Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of designated principals, collaborating with the Global Security team in a dynamic environment that requires integrity, confidentiality, good judgment, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the overall safety and security of designated Principals
  • Organize schedules and drive Principals to various personal/business venues and off-site assignments
  • Demonstrate proficiency in use and maintenance of equipment used in protective operations (vehicles, medical supplies, communications devices, weapons, etc.)
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • Communicate with principal’s staff, coworkers, and third-party vendors with a customer service approach
  • Adapt to tasks outside traditional security operations/roles
  • Apply on-the-spot critical thinking and improvisation
  • Display strong emotional intelligence and self-awareness
  • Operate in varied social settings
  • Work shifts may include days/nights/weekends/holidays; provide multiple coverage
  • Provide close protection to Principals at venues, events, meetings, and trips

Responsibilities (continued)

  • Conduct advance work for routes, venues, and travel
  • Prepare detailed reports with proficient writing skills
  • Coordinate with Principal’s staff and outside personnel to facilitate seamless operations
  • Engage responsibly to active threats against the Principal
  • Defensive tactics proficiency to deescalate or engage threats
  • Supervisory responsibilities: manage team and contract vendors
  • Budget responsibilities: provide or collect information for budget activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum ten years law enforcement experience
  • Minimum five years protective/tactical experience
  • Minimum five years in a supervisory/team leader role with personnel and operations management
  • Certified instructor in defensive tactics and firearms; proficient in defensive/tactical driving
  • Valid United States Driver’s License
  • Current Passport

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Graduation from a certified driving school
  • Understanding of latest technology in smartphones, tracking apps, and collaboration tools
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team and as a solo practitioner
  • Excellent communicator with clients, superiors, peers, and vendors
  • Bi-lingual (English, Spanish)

Additional Requirements

  • May work outside normal daytime hours, weekends, or holidays
  • Regular domestic and international travel may be required (estimated 40%)
  • Occasional individual contributor role in executive protection assignments or related duties
