Role Summary

Associate Director, Enterprise Risk Management. Lead and mature the company's risk management strategy within a dynamic, regulated biotech environment. Drive risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring across financial, operational, strategic, compliance, and reputational domains; maintain corporate risk register, business continuity planning, and crisis management; contribute to regulatory compliance efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional risk identification across all risk categories, gathering insights from stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Facilitate risk assessment workshops, scenario analyses, and working groups to inform decision-making.
  • Develop and mature risk communication tools, including risk registers and scoring matrices, to evaluate the impact and likelihood of risks.
  • Collaborate with compliance and internal audit teams to ensure alignment of ERM deliverables with broader risk-related audits and assessments.
  • Partner with business units to identify risk controls, assess their effectiveness, and recommend innovative mitigation strategies.
  • Draft narrative risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management and the board of directors.
  • Design and lead business continuity and crisis management simulations to enhance organizational resilience.
  • Provide facilitation support during unforeseen enterprise crisis events, ensuring effective response coordination.
  • Monitor external landscape trends, industry shifts, and regulatory changes that could impact the company’s risk profile.
  • Maintain and continuously improve enterprise risk governance principles, policies, and procedures in alignment with industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in STEM, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Required: Minimum 10+ years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical business operations.
  • Required: At least 5 years of experience in program management or risk management within the pharmaceutical industry or a highly regulated sector.
  • Required: Proven ability to develop and implement enterprise programs, frameworks, and policies.
  • Required: Strong analytical skills with experience in risk assessment methodologies and tools.
  • Required: Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Required: Proficiency in data analysis software and risk management tools.
  • Required: Deep understanding of global pharmaceutical regulations and compliance standards.
  • Required: Exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking.
  • Preferred: Advanced degrees and certifications (e.g., MBA).
  • Preferred: Experience designing and facilitating business continuity and crisis management simulations.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with industry benchmarking and landscape monitoring practices.
