Associate Director - Engineering (Automation)

Role: Associate Director – Engineering (Automation) leading process control engineering at Lilly's new API manufacturing facility in Houston, TX. Objectives: support GMP startup, build, lead, and develop the process control team, ensuring reliable, compliant automation systems for API production. Responsibilities: attract and onboard talent, develop business processes, oversee automation design, commissioning, and ongoing operations; implement standards, SOPs, and continuous improvement practices; manage staffing, budgets, and compliance; collaborate with project teams, regulators, and global peers; support GMP manufacturing post-startup. Qualifications: B.S. in Engineering (preferably Chemical), 5+ years in process control/automation, 3+ years leadership, experience with Rockwell Automation and Emerson DeltaV preferred. High-value: leadership in API manufacturing start-up, GMP compliance, process automation, project delivery, cross-functional collaboration, site startup, and scale-up activities. Work setup: Site-based role with significant project collaboration during startup and operational responsibilities post-startup.
