Associate Director, Engineering and Materials Science

Role: Lead a cross-functional team in the development and scale-up of drug substance processes for small molecules or oligonucleotides, supporting all clinical phases through to commercialization. Responsibilities: oversee laboratory process development, modeling, technology transfer, and collaboration with materials, chemistry, analytical, and formulation teams to optimize drug properties and performance; promote process modeling adoption; influence department strategy; mentor junior staff; potentially serve as EMS project lead. Requirements: BS with 11+ years, MS with 9+ years, or PhD with 6+ years in Chemical Engineering or related field with pharmaceutical experience. High-Value: expertise in small molecule and oligonucleotide process development, particle engineering, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and process modeling; experience in a matrix environment, and leadership in a biopharma setting. Work Setup: On-site in Boston, MA, with flexible arrangements.
