Role: Associate Director, Engineering in Biologics External Manufacturing Technology, serving as the primary technical interface with external partners for biologics manufacturing and technology transfer. Responsibilities: lead and execute technical transfers to and from external partners, provide technical oversight and support for complex biologics programs, ensure compliance, process validation, risk mitigation, and process optimization; collaborate across functions including Quality, Regulatory, Procurement, and Operations; support ongoing manufacturing and troubleshooting; and manage partner assessments and audits. Requirements: Bachelor's in Engineering or Science; 8+ years in biologics or vaccine manufacturing, process sciences, or engineering; expertise in technical transfers, process validation, and biologics operations; strong leadership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills; experience with compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement; ability to manage multiple complex projects. Preferred: advanced degrees, lean manufacturing experience, international and matrix organization experience, and biologics unit operation expertise. High-Value: biologics, large molecule modalities, vaccine or biologic products, technical transfer, process development, manufacturing support, and regulatory compliance. Location: US (preferably West Coast), with >30% travel primarily within EU; remote work option. Reporting to the Director, Biologics External Manufacturing Technology.
