Associate Director, Discovery Research Operational Excellence

As an Associate Director supporting operational initiatives, you will work with management to advance Discovery Research’s strategic agenda and support mission-critical initiatives that impact AbbVie’s pipeline. You will report to the Director of Operational Excellence, as part of Discovery Research Strategy, Portfolio, and Operations.

Responsibilities:
- Support identifying strategic initiatives that enhance operational productivity and position Discovery Research for future success
- Monitor, understand, and prioritize external trends relevant to Discovery Research; determine how the organization should prepare and/or respond
- Provide project management support for key strategic planning processes
- Lead individual modules within complex, cross-functional initiatives, driving problem-solving, supporting research and analytics, and distilling pragmatic recommendations for management
- Partner with the business to implement recommendations endorsed by management

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Sciences) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience at a top-tier strategic consulting firm, preferably with healthcare and pharma industry experience
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to lead modules within complex, cross-functional initiatives, including research/analytics and pragmatic recommendations
- Highly collaborative; enjoys working with businesses to develop solutions
- Strong communication skills; comfortable leading meetings with mid/senior-level management
- Sound business judgment
