Role Summary

Associate Director/Director, Publications at Syndax with deep expertise in hematology/oncology. This role supports and executes publication strategies across therapeutic areas, collaborating closely with Medical Affairs leadership, product teams, and external partners. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs, various cross functional teams, and alliance partners to develop and execute publication plans
  • Liaise with internal & external subject matter experts to ensure high quality analysis, interpretation, and publication of data
  • Drive the execution of scientific publications; manage the activities of internal teams and external vendors, ensuring high quality of work and adherence to timelines, deadlines, and budgets
  • Provide scientific expertise and direction for all publications, including reviewing developed content and ensuring process is consistent with SOPs
  • Lead publication committee discussions, including monthly, quarterly and yearly publication update meetings as needed
  • Ensure documentation of compliance with authorship and publication guidelines as stipulated by the ICMJE and GPP
  • Manage the annual budget and contracting process for all publications
  • Work closely with Medical Affairs leadership to incorporate the strategic publication plan into the Medical Affairs framework
  • Serve as Medical reviewer for all nonpromotional materials, as needed
  • Understand the scientific and medical content in given areas of interest for Syndax, and become a subject matter expert and internal liaison for all products
  • Represent Syndax in ongoing collaborations with KOLs in the development of scientific publications and at various scientific and clinical congresses and meetings
  • Survey the medical and scientific literature for the identification of relevant publications and unmet medical needs; lead the development of regular literature updates and annotated summaries of key articles
  • Attend conferences, symposia, or other meetings, as necessary or as assigned, and act as liaison between Medical Communications and external content contributors

Qualifications

  • Required: Deep hematology/oncology experience
  • Required: 6+ years’ experience in publication strategy, planning, and development, preferably within Medical Affairs (field or medical strategy)
  • Preferred: Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MS) in Health Sciences
  • Required: Experience in biotech/pharmaceutical environment or scientific publications agency
  • Required: Demonstrated knowledge of applicable guidelines including ICMJE, ACCME, OIG, PhRMA, GPP & GCP
  • Required: Strong leadership skills and the ability to facilitate alignment among internal and external stakeholders (KOLs, authors, cross functional teams)
  • Required: Strong project management skills, with high attention to detail, and ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • Required: Strong scientific acumen and ability to critically analyze and interpret data
  • Required: Experience as a key contributor and collaborator within multidisciplinary teams and/or with agency partners on scientific messaging and publications
  • Required: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate about publication planning and development, including management of agency partners and budgets
  • Required: Personal and scientific credibility to engage with internal stakeholders and external experts recognized as leaders in their field
  • Preferred: Regular travel will be required for this role

Education

  • Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MS) in Health Sciences preferred
