Role Summary

Associate Director – Digital Engineering Solutions. Lead a team within Digital Manufacturing Engineering to deliver digital engineering solutions, including computational modeling, analytics, and digital twins, while aligning with Lilly’s DME strategy and global governance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead HR processes for the team, including performance management, compensation management, recognition, talent assessment, promotion, recruiting, and succession planning. Coach and develop team members; support diversity initiatives.
  • Support DME team strategy, business planning, and team-building activities.
  • Lead and champion the Digital Engineering Governance Framework to oversee solutions development, deployment, and change management across sites globally.
  • Provide digital manufacturing engineering discipline and technical leadership; partner with manufacturing sites on solution assessments, reuse opportunities, and concept development; manage tools, standards, master specifications, and best practices.
  • Provide technical coaching and mentoring; document learning through peer-reviewed documents; facilitate learning forums such as conferences and user groups.
  • Monitor external industry trends for digital manufacturing technologies and solutions; influence benchmarking efforts.
  • Support and own global DME sponsored programs and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science field
  • Minimum 5 years’ pharmaceutical manufacturing experience in engineering or related function
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with digital manufacturing engineering technologies (digital twin, computational modeling, data analytics, etc.)
  • Previous supervisory experience with direct reports

Skills

  • Knowledge in data systems, historians, and reporting platforms
  • Knowledge of project management and vendor management
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • cGMP regulatory knowledge in process or automation engineering

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science field

Additional Requirements

  • Travel up to 15% (US and OUS); may require off-hour meetings due to time zone differences
  • Day shift, Monday through Friday
